The ultimate way to add diversity and an inflation hedge to your investment portfolio

Investing in recession proof assets, like a gold backed IRA, is at the forefront of the minds of many investors, especially in today’s unpredictable economy which is sadly defined by its highly unstable inflation trends.

Since the 2008 economic crisis, thousands of people are now looking into investing in physical precious metals (through vehicles like Gold or Silver-Backed IRAs) to protect their savings.

Why Invest in Gold?

Gold is recognized worldwide as a low risk investment that yields high profits. Over the years, gold has proven itself to provide investors with a tangible way to protect their capital. Gold, along with several other precious metals (silver, platinum and palladium), is rapidly becoming the first choice of investment for more and more Americans.

A gold IRA is a type of Individual Retirement Account which, instead of stocks, bonds, mutual funds or other high risk paper assets, is backed by physical gold.

How does it work?
As an example, let’s say an investor would like to back up $15,000 of their savings with gold. He would first open up a Self-Directed IRA Account where the funds will be placed. Next, he will be required to find a trusted precious metal dealer from whom, using the funds, he will then purchase the gold assets.

Upon purchasing of the asset, the owner will be required to deposit it with a qualified gold IRA custodian or a secure precious metal depository firm. They will also keep all of the transaction records and carry out other administrative tasks on behalf of the investor.

The owner will be required to pay a yearly maintenance/storage fee. For an affordable and highly-reputable firm with ultra-competitive pricing and a non-scaled fee structure, choose Regal Assets, click here to find out why!

To learn about the rules, regulations and requirements set forth by the IRS as to what type of gold is allowed, please read through our Gold IRA Rules.

There are two ways to make an investment into a Gold Backed IRA:

  1. First is through a self-directed IRA. This allows the account holder to make decisions on how they want to invest their assets. In precious metal, there are several options available along with gold. This includes silver, palladium and platinum bullion.
  2. The second way is through a Gold IRA Rollover/transfer. If you own an existing IRA account (it almost doesn’t matter what kind), you can transfer or rollover the full, or partial, value into a Precious Metals Backed IRA Account. You can rollover funds as frequently as you like.

All you have to do, with our assistance, is open an IRA account and approve the rollover process. The new IRA custodian will contact the previous institution and initiate the transfer of funds.  The process is quick and absolutely hassle-free!

Know that you can opt to transfer your entire portfolio, or a part of an existing IRA account, into a new self-directed gold-backed IRA account without any tax penalty. 401k accounts or other plans such as a 403b, annuity, pension, thrift saving, and 457b can be converted into a tax-free Gold IRA Investment Account as well.

Why Rely on Gold for Your Individual Retirement Account?

In short, when stocks crash or devaluation of currencies occur, the value of gold booms. This is why it is the perfect asset to protect against inflation.

Throughout history, irrespective of the economic state, gold has always held its value. Between 2008 and 2012, when our nation was going through a deep recession, the value of gold increased by up to 101.1%.

Gold is a wise choice for retirement planning due to its capability of blooming consistently throughout the history, regardless of the current economic state.

Moreover, despite recession and inflation, the price of gold has notably shown an upward trend over the past years. This basically concludes that gold offers the highest level of stability when compared to other investments, such as stocks, bonds and annuities.

And as a trend, when stocks go down, gold goes up. Further indicating that gold is a fool-proof hedge against nose-diving stocks as well as on the U.S. dollar.

Furthermore, factors influencing gold’s value differ from those that affect the value of stocks.

Precious Metals Backed IRA: Is It Right for You?

If you would like to prevent the evil clenches of inflation from seeping your profits, then yes it is right for you. Paper money is government controlled, and…well…it is just paper with a government endowed value; stocks and bonds are digital assets.

Gold is unique in that it is tangible. Its value is intrinsic and stable…PERIOD!

Affected by the devaluation of US Dollars, IRAs with traditional assets have witnessed a stable decline in value in the past years. However, gold backed IRAs have witnessed an opposite trend: A gradual rise in value, especially during unfavorable times!

In a nutshell, here are 5 reasons to choose a physical gold backed IRA.

  1. Most durable and valuable form of currency
  2. No devaluation possible by the government
  3. Low political risk, market risk, interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk
  4. Varied investment choices such as physical gold, mining stocks, certificates of deposits, coins, and gold ETFs
  5. Highly stable and its value is not influenced by unfavorable monetary, economic, and political conditions
